Songs I can't get out of my head.

Right now, I keep bursting into song with "Mickey" ("Hey Mickey, you're so fine, you're so fine you blow my mind. Hey Mickey! Hey Mickey!") and the Coke with Lime song ("Put the lime in the coconut, drink it all up"--actually, that one I've taught to the kids, so that we can all be in Jingle Hell together).

Have you heard 'Public Service Announcement' by The Bravery? That damn bass line plays over and over and over. Good tune though, in an 80's kind of way.

To be honest, I've never even heard of The Bravery. I may have to pay a visit to iTunes.

I love Mickey!

I saw the "lime in the coke you nut" commercial last night and that song's been in my head all day, too.

And for unexplainable reasons, John busted into "I'm a cowboy... On a steel horse I ride... I'm wanted... Dead or alive" two days ago and I found myself singing that quite a few times today :-)

Jen, check your inbox.

I have Gwen Stafani's Holla Back Girl in my head all the time as my niece played it yesterday over and over :)

My suggestion wasn't a big hit. I'll have to come up with something else.

New Best Friend Rob, I didn't say I DIDN'T like it. I said it seems to be an acquired taste.

It's no Final Countdown, but then again, I'm not sure anything is. : )

I've got one for ya-
With Gwen Stefani's new song about "If I were a rich girl" playing all the time, I actualy have songs from the musical Fiddler on the Roof stuck in my head. We're not just talking If I Were A Rich Man, but the whole musical.
I bet I win the weird contest on this one.

*Gasp* Rob, how dare you take something I told you in confidance and use it against me!

;)

Anna...I'm not even sure WHAT to say to you.

And NOW, The Final Countdown is in my head, as I'm sure it will be all day. (Strangely, I find myself singing not the words by the synth part--"do do do, do dodo do...")

And if there's any justice in this world, Rob, I'm taking YOU down with me.

Anna said...

Yup, Broadway Musicals- It's my Mom's fault.
Whatcha gonna do?
So now it's some wierd mix of If I were a Rich Man and the Do do-do do part from The Final Countdown.

I'm pretty sure no song by Europe will ever get stuck in my head, but I may have to stay away from this blog for awhile just to make sure. Way too much Final Countdown talk for my well being.

Jen said...

Lord, we scared off another one.

Does that mean you're not sending me any more musical selections?

Rob said...

Dunno, I'll have to think long and hard about my next selection so I don't get shot down again.

Anna said...

Awww, I think he's hurt :(

hmm...

Jen said...

Rob, I would NEVER shoot you down.

Please send me another song. Please? Look, I'm begging, even.

Rob said...

Jen, check your trash. I'm sending another. This one isn't 80's sounding at all, just the latest I've been listening to. They're from Europe (not the former band members, fortunately), Sweden actually. Much more mellow than the last suggestion.

Hey Plucky, what the hell does Hmmm mean? You gotta say more than that!

Rob, I like you. I must admit I had a small myocardial infarction when I read your name, but that's another story.

Rob said...

I've been known to have that effect on the ladies, sorry about that.. I should have warned you.

Jen said...

LOL Renee. I had the same thought when I saw his name.

Rob and I have been exchanging songs all night...those his success rate is rather low.

Rob said...

ummm... I assure my success rate is much better than what you give me credit for. : )

It's a GOOD SONG.

I don't even KNOW you anymore.

Renee said...

LOL. What gay songs are you sharing (The Final Countdown really does blow)?

Jen said...

WHO ARE YOU PEOPLE that you don't love the Final Countdown??

They're all unknown (well, to me--and you, too, I dare say) bands and singers. Rob calculated a 1.5/7 or so success rate last night (I'm not sure where the .5 came in, exactly--and I THOUGHT I had liked at least two full songs, but I digress.)

Let the record show that he did like MY selections (which included Rascal Flatts and Sade), so clearly, my musical taste is superior.

And now, if you'll excuse me, I have some Cyndi Lauper to listen to.

Rob said...

Let the record show that I said Rascal Flatts was superior to Nitty's 'Nasty Girl'. After that I don't think I said much about it.

Jen said...

Regarding Sade, you said "Good song."

So HA. MY success rate is 2/3.

I hate to be a bitch (no i dont who am I kidding) but it is "Put the lime in the coke you nut - that is why it is sooooo cool! I love that song also.

Jen said...

Okay first of all, you LOVE to be a bitch. ;)

Secondly, I sing the ORIGINAL version. Geez.
