My silent soldier speaks!

I got an IM today from one of my adopted boys in Iraq--one I've been writing to since February but haven't heard from till today. I have to say, I got a little teary-eyed when I realized it was him. It's so great to "talk" to him and know he's okay. And get this--he's from Michigan, less than 2 hours away! He'll be home on leave in August and wants to take me out to dinner. He's such a wonderful guy!

Well he IS single, and he IS kinda flirty with me and stuff, but...it is very against the Soldiers' Angels rules to get involved with "your boys" (though of course romances do blossom).

But thanks for the sweet words. Pray for him too please.

Okay, but this isn't a "blossoming romance." Sheesh.

Jen,
I hope you are able to meet up with him when he gets home. I'm glad that you finally heard from him. Don't ya just love these soldiers? What an awesome bunch of people! For those who haven't yet, I'd highly recommend adopting a soldier, it's one of the most rewarding things you can do and it doesn't take much time at all to light up someone's day!

Rules, schmules. They're put in place to break, right?

He just didn't have access to a computer till recently....and he was keeping pretty busy, which took away from his letter writing time.

I'm just glad he's okay, period. And it sounds like we'll be able to keep in more regular contact.
