My new favorite song.
For those of you who haven't been over there recently, I suggest that you take a quick detour back over to Rob's blog. Out of the dozens of songs he has sent me in the course of our new friendship (we've GOTTA be up to "dozens" by now, right?), there was one that I truly, truly loved: Ryan Montbleau's "Just Perfect." And you can hear it right now at http://stateofrob.blogspot.com/ . Then come back and tell me what you think.
(But don't heap TOO much praise on his musical tastes; we had to go through a lot of songs before achieving success with this one. A LOT.)

I thought Tracy Chapman too. But I thought it was good, Melissa
Hey I didn't say I didn't like it, I thought it was good. Melissa
That's what I told him, Missy; that YOU liked it.
SO GOOD. Thanks, BFF.
(Renee, after your trashing of Ryan's voice, you are hereby relieved of best friend duties.)
Jeff's too busy being a butt to come to the blog right now, but leave him a message at the beep and he'll call you back later.
BEEEPPPP
What song from that movie was it?
OK I'm sending it to you, Renee. If it doesn't come to your inbox, check bulk mail and trash--when I get big attachments, they automatically get routed to my trash. But maybe that's just a Yahoo thing.
To answer your question, Renee, I think I would classify this as "alternative". Of course, to me, "alternative" means "anything I don't normally listen to."
I have to say that I liked it. The guitar work is great (not Eddie Van Halen or Joe Satriani great, that's a whole other convo though),but still very good! I absolutely loved the lyrics too, very deep and rather soulful really. And I think it belongs in more of a folksy type category, not so much an alternative song, IMO.
Jen, I'm with ya on this one, it gets a 1 and 1/2 thumbs up!
I really like the first song, but I love cannonball. Melissa
Folksy makes me think of Kumbaya, though.
