I spoke too soon
As of 2 pm today
Now granted, this could still move in either direction over the next several days; the "uncertainty surrounding the track and strength of Gustav is very large.” However, it looks like I'll definitely have to watch this a little more closely than I had hoped. And this one makes me pretty damn nervous: it could be a big one. Hell, it's already hit land as a 1, and although it's gone back to tropical storm status, they almost always pick up speed over water. One thing's for sure: our Labor Day weekend could definitely suck.

time to throw out the hurricane boy net!!
Still love living in Florida Jen? hehehehe I'll keep my fingers crossed and hope it doesn't hit ya.
Be careful and safe.
I didn't see a lot of it on the Weather Channel this morning, but I hope it misses you. I'm afraid for Louisiana again, though.
yes, now it's going to miss us (again) but there's Hanna forming right behind it...but that's almost a week away.
And yes, LA could be hit hard. I hope they're now more ready/prepared for these types of storms now.
This thing is some 300 miles off our coast and we're STILL getting some pretty nasty wind and rain from it today. Thoughts and prayers for those who are about to get hit.
Update: we've even lost power a few times and the traffic lights were out, too. This storm is actually having more of an impact on us than Fay. It's actually really, really scary and shows just how awesome (as in, big) Gustav really is.
