Computers?

Do any of y'all out there know anything about computers? We need to get a new one and I thought you might be good folks to ask. We're thinking about a Mac but haven't had one before. What computer do you suggest I buy & why?

I love MACS!! My husband has a PC at home, but I prefer Macs. that is what i use at work. They are safer as far as virus protection and have lots of cool programs and helpful sites. So I would say to get a MAC for sure!!

We use only MACS. They don't crash. PC's have more problems.

I don't like macs because I hate their mice. I suggest just getting a mid-grade one, and call it a day. Don't go for glam...it's a waste of money.

Macs are indeed better and more secure. But it's like the Betamax and VHS wars of the 1980's. (Are any of you old enough to even know about that?) Beta was a superior format, but had a far smaller market share. As a result, many videos were only available on VHS. Bye, bye, Beta.

Same with the Mac. Superior, but definitely a niche product. You'll have some problems with software (not the really popular ones).

If you go with a Mac - you have one supplier. A Windows-based computer gives you many more options. I agree with locutus - Dell is the way to go. Build it online, and poof - it's at your doorstep a few days later.

Good luck!
