My new hair color

Can you even tell the difference? LOL. It didn't come through TOO clearly in this picture; it's a LITTLE darker in person but really, it's not a drastic change. Forgive me, Missy, for I have sinned, but I colored my hair (gasp!) with an over-the-counter product. Yes, I know that stuff is made out of paint thinner or something, but I needed to do SOMETHING. My roots were becoming much more obvious, and since I've lost my all-access pass to my free colorist, I wanted to find a color just dark enough to color the roots I have now and also allow my natural color to grow in undetected. I think this color is the perfect match. Plus, I got it at Family Dollar for like $3! =-)

After helping another teacher move the rest of his furniture (in Florida. At one in the afternoon. In 95 degree temps. Note to self: don't do that again), I retired to the pool to recuperate. Although it was initially really cloudy and thundering, I persevered and sure enough, the skies lightened again and the sun peeked through.

Just to rub it in a bit more: I was laying by the pool, next to a palm tree, in Florida, on a (partly) sunny weekend afternoon. How was YOUR Saturday? =-)

Hey Jen! I'm so glad you are happy and settling into this new adventure. Your hair looks great (not that hair has anything to do with the whole teaching-in-Florida adventure, but...), the apartment looks great and the school does, too. You deserve every bit of sunshine and palm trees. Good luck and enjoy!

Ahh, you're starting to rub it in already. Great to follow your progress, sounds like things are going well.

We had to go downtown Friday for a pep rally kind of thing. All 20,000 of us were not paying attention. What a waste.

Thanks Lori! =-) And how's the famous author? (PS--I'm using some of my budget to buy your book for our classroom.)

Fred: we're all driving to Westin for a similar thing this coming Friday for our charter school company. The only good part is that HARRY WONG is the guest speaker, which I'm pretty geeked about.

My roommate Frank also had a big "hair day" yesterday. He decided to shave his head. At 2 in the morning. With a beard trimmer. (Hey, I TRIED to talk some sense into him.) It turned out pretty good, though.

Jen, if you haven't ordered it already, wait and get it from me. I keep some here for when people want a copy signed. I get them at a good discount and I'll pass that savings to you. Then you'll have a bit more classroom budget for other things.

It's hot here too you know.

You could lie by the pool here.

If we had one.

Who's Harry Wong?

Harry Wong wrote "The first days of school", the bible for all new teachers.

Anna--what'd you do this weekend?

Anna- I was tired just reading that post ;). The driving part scared me as you can imagine :).

LOLOLOLOLOL Missy.

Anna--holy crap, woman. I think you need to write a full-out post about that one. Your last line cracked me up. Did Sheila decide on a dress?

Okay, so I took the Harry Wong thing the way wrong way, hehehe. And I can't see a difference in your hair. Maybe I'm just too manish when it comes to that kinda stuff. Oh and your lil braggin about the 95 degree temps, we got the same going on up here honey!
Anyways, glad things are going so well for you- when ya coming home again? lol j/k

I was more bragging about the palm trees/pool thing.

I hear a hurricane may be a'comin this way, though. It's just a tropical storm right now, though. It's named "Chris," ironically enough. =-)
