Two more days....
Till the best EVER, aka the opening of Sex and the City: The Movie.
Fans have been waiting for years--literally, YEARS--for this. Tickets are ALREADY selling out. I'm watching 2 local theatres very closely, as each have sold out many of the earlier showtimes. Shawn and I (and I barely even had to twist his arm; he watched the show and liked it, too. I now have his Man Card in my purse, LOL) are going on Friday night, and I'm ready to buy tickets online tomorrow, if necessary.
I CANNOT WAIT. If I had realized that there was an 11:59 showing on Thursday night, I would have saved my last day off for that. You know how the dorks lined up for days for Harry Potter, Star Wars, etc? That would've been me for SATC, cosmo firmly in hand.
I know Anna's with me on this one. Does anyone else plan on seeing this on opening day? Does anyone else even care?

No and no.
I'd rather rip my toenails off, then work on my fingernails.
Hahahahahaha Fred :-)
I've only seen the show a couple times. We didn't have HBO when it first started, so the few shows we've seen have been in the middle. They were funny, though. I suppose if I'd rent the seasons I'd fall in love with it. Sheri wanted me to go see it with her tomorrow, but Todd, Jody and the boys are actually coming here this weekend! It's quite sad that we haven't seen them since 4th of July last year. So, no. I'm not going to see it.
I am SO EXCITED for it!
My college friends & I watched & rewatched it religiously, then Jen & I watched it when I moved to MI. I remember going to her apt to watch the last show together - so sad to see it end.
I'm a bit bummed though, because I can't rush out and see it this weekend. Sheila, Trent & I have promised to wait to go until Lena moves home June 14 so we can all go together. I don't know if I'm strong enough to hold out for 2 weeks even for the love of my Lena!
So should I wait for Lena to go in 2 weeks or should I go now and then go again with her in 2 weeks?
If you think she won't be truly pissed off, I'd go now and then go see it with her in two weeks! I would think that seeing it together is what will matter to her most, whether you've already seen it or not.
I really hope you enjoy the movie Jen. It's getting alot of press. I didn't care for the show, so this movie doesn't matter to me one way or the other.
We couldnt see it on Friday. Most show times were sold out, and those that werent interfered with his Pistons elimination game.
("Can't you just TiVo it like you do all the other games?" "Um, dude, it's an ELIMINATION game." "Yeah, I get that, but you can still watch it when we get home and it'll FEEL live." "ELIMINATION GAME."
So we're going on Sunday. (I figured if he's willing to go with me at ALL, I can be somewhat flexible on the actual day.)
PS, Renee, start renting the seasons now, then when it comes out on DVD you'll be ready.
Brilliant idea, no?
Ooh, that IS a brilliant idea, Jen.
And can you effin believe the Pistons were ahead by so much and just quit? What the hell happened there at the end? As Shawn so brilliantly pointed out, ELIMINATION GAME, DICKHEADS! They weren't even TRYING, and therefore deserved to be eliminated.
And it's cool that Shawn is from MI so you guys can root for Detroit (and U of M) sports together :-)
me and my girlfriends went to see it on opening night - went to dinner before, had cocktatils, went to a theater where we could have cocktails. ONLY because the earlier shows were SOLD OUT! at 9AM!! we couldn't get in until the 1045 show - and the lobby was a madhouse. and the people were dressed up and everything...it was nuts. but worth it. great flick.
ps - my word verification below? one letter off from the word 'hitman' lolololol
I can't go to the game without Lena. She said she'd be sad so I'm waiting.
Bummer about the Pistons. Pretty exciting about the Red Wings!
