That's bull!

Shawn and I went to his boss's house (he lived on a farm) for a BBQ-type thing--you know, your general schmooze-with-the-boss-and-look-like-a-team-player event. We were sitting on a wooden porch, relaxing, when all of a suddent a BULL headed our way--walking, but at a decent rate of speed.

"Can bulls climb?" I half-jokingly asked Shawn (the porch was raised a little bit).

Suddenly, the bull used his horns to break through the wooden railings and started to climb up on the platform.

"Shit, I guess so!" Shawn yelled as we jumped out of our chairs and started running.

However, we had no where to go. There was a door to the house but by the time we stopped and pulled it open, we would have been gored.

"We're going to have to jump!" he shouted.

I looked down (suddenly, the porch was raised wayyyyy up in the sky) but realized we had no choice. So we took a deep breath and went running off the porch (Thelma and Louise style, but without the cute convertable) with the bull right behind us.

We somehow propelled ourselves higher into the air so that bull fell and and landed first (cuz otherwise, you know, he could fall on us, DUH). We screamed as we fell and waited for the impact.

"Don't die or break anything Don't die or break anything Don't die or break anything," I very vividly remember thinking.

We hit the ground. I broke something. Shawn barely had a scratch. (Which, as I retype this, is pretty much symbolic of the end of all my relationships, LOL.)

And then I woke up.

Damn nicotine patches.

Note: I looked up "bulls" in the dream dictionary.

To see a bull in your dream, symbolizes stubbornness, strong will, strength, and power. It is time to take some action and be more assertive. Alternatively, it indicates rich, prosperous, and abundant life. Consider the pun, "being bull-headed". Maybe you need to have a little compromise in a situation.

Bulls are also symbolic of repressed sexual energies, fertility and virility. To see an untamed, raging bull represents that your passions may be out of control.

So basically, I'm a stubborn nympho? Tell me something I DON'T know, dream dictionary.

well what's extra weird is that i had another bull dream after that. shawn and i were living together and he told me I had 30 min to get my shit out of his house, so I go running across a field (of course) and i realized I'm being chased by a bull. and just as he's gaining on me I see a tree, so I start running in circles around this tree, since with all the sharp turning it made it harder for the bull to gain speed and to get me with his horns (pretty ingenius, I thought), but I was stuck because I knew if I "left" the tree and went straight he'd get me, and there were no branches to climb (and anyway, as we learned in the last dream, it wouldnt matter 'cuz bulls can climb, LOL)....

so...yeah.

i found out that in addition to nic patches, my new crazy pill can ALSO give you weird dreams--and my dreams were already weird enough WITHOUT the aid of pharmacology--so there you go

LOLOL!!! OMG! That was awesome!

You totally had me! I was reading thinking "Oh no, Jen broke her arm/leg/something."

You always have had the best dreams. I remember you telling me one at DMX about your foot falling off that has apparently stayed with me for 5 years.

Hell, I'll have what you're having. My dreams suck ass! I used to have lots of good dreams, but now I rarely dream and if I do, it's boring.

These 2 dreams were awesome, Jen. I laughed my ass of at the "can bulls climb" part. Oh and the thought process about circling the tree to avoid a goring was pure genius. I can picture it and I'm dying laughing.

Stubborn nympho. Is that an oxymoron?

LOL, Fred.

Jen, is it embarrassing that Fred now knows you're a nympho?

Jen said...

Nah. I'm sure he's heard worse on here, LOL
