Quickie

I stayed up all night reading James Patterson's new book, Quickie. Literally, I couldn't put it down till I finished it. (And it's not a little book, either--it weighs in at a respectable 357 pages.) It's about Lauren, who had one of those blissfully happy marriages with her husband--until, on her way to surprise him at the office one day, she caught him having an affair. So she decides to have a revenge-fling of her own (hence the title). Well, everything quickly spins out of control; there's a murder involved but I don't want to give away too much of the plot.

If you're a fan of Patterson's books (and this is his best to date)--or even a thriller/mystery enthusiast--I HIGHLY HIGHLY HIGHLY recommend this book. You might be tired the next day, but you'll thank me.

I am looking for a few books to read this summer. Sounds like a good one.

If I had an affair, I hope it would be more than a quickie.

LMAO Fred :-)

Jen, I'm gonna get that book today. Except I have three of Kristina's books that I haven't started yet. So I'll get it but not start it for a while :-)

I'm all about chick lit--thanks brandi

PS--Quickie is filled with so many twists and turns that it leaves you breathless. Each new page you're like "oh my god!' "Oh my GOD!!"

Jen-- where the hell have you been? That book's not very new and it made the rounds through me, Missy, and Lynda a while ago.

You're so right, it pulls you in big time. The ending blew all 3 of us away. Such craziness. James Patterson is an awesome author.

LOL. I think it's new in paperback, Nik.

I also have like 5 Jonathan Kellerman (who I absolutely LOVE) books waiting for me. I got into a chick lit groove for a while, but now I'm craving some crime drama stuff.

I'll rephrase: new to the library

I didn't mean to sound so bitchy with the "where've you been" thing. I just figured with as much as you read, that you woulda read that one already, that's all. That book still blows my mind to think about it.

I actually like it when everyone's bitchy here. It keeps me coming back! (As long as you're not bitchy to me...I'm pretty sensitive.)

You didn't sound bitchy, Nik, but since Fred likes a good bitch fight, maybe we should step it up a little. You skank. ;-)
