What the --?

Straight from the National Weather Service comes this Winter Storm Warning for Wayne County:

Winter storm warning extended until 11 pm edt Sunday. The winter storm warning has been extended until 11 pm edt sunday. Snow will continue through Sunday evening. The snow will be heavy at times. Storm total snowfall accumulations will range from 3 to 8 inches by Sunday evening.

Now mind you, it actually reached the 80s earlier this week.

I'm too pissed to write anything further on the subject. And anyway, I have to begin stockpiling supplies for the Blizzard of 2005.

LOL! That's what I just said to my soldier-- she mentioned that it got to 105 there yesterday and asked how OUR weather was. I said "Well, last weekend it got up to 85 here; today it's snowing like a bitch"

What the hell?!

And my kid is PISSED cuz we just built his swingset last weekend, which he's been playing on multiple times a day every day and yesterday it was raining and today it's raining/snowing and the kid is livid!

It's Anna's fault, with her damn "summer" post.

Renee said...

Okay, we'll blame Anna ;-)

I was thinking it was MY fault for bitching last week when it was 85...

RENEE why were you bitching already you have to at least wait until August to start bitching about how hot it is. Most normally people don't bitch on the first very nice day of spring. TODAY you can bitch and complain all you want. So I think I'm going to keep blaming Renee, I hope your happy you pissed your son off. JK. Melissa

LOL! Thanks Missy :-)

85 IS NOT SPRING. 85 IS SUMMER and we skipped Spring. I didn't even have a chance to get used to t-shirts instead of sweatshirts... I do NOT wear shorts and I had to put on shorts last weekend while helping with the swingset build. And a frickin tank top. It was not a pretty sight, trust me!

Don't ever trust the weather service. You have weather questions come to me. I'll tell you exactly what's going to happen.

Nice blog!

Whoo hooo, two miscellaneous hits in one day!

Thanks for stopping by, guys. (I feel blessed.) ;)

How come *I* don't have a cool blog bio thing like the Pope and Gallery guy?

And btw, Brent got over his initial pissed-off-ness when he realized what snow USUALLY means and asked if it was Winter again and Christmas and his birthday were coming :-)

Renee said...

Never mind, I just figured out how to edit my profile. I'm cool now :-)

Jen said...

Renee, I just looked at your profile and we TOTALLY love the same authors (Kellerman, Patterson, etc). I just scored a bunch of their books at a used-book sale at the library ($2 for a hardcover, 50 cents for paperbacks...I was orgasmic).

Renee said...

I'M JEALOUS! I just (well, it was like 4 or 5 books ago) read The Conspiracy Club by Kellerman; have you read it? If not, I'll send it to ya. REALLY GOOD. I love me some psychological thrillers :-)

You girls are gonna die when I tell you this-- I've been going through boxes in my basement (some of them are still taped up from 2 or 3 moves ago). I found a box of books... The Babysitter's Club, Sweet Valley Twins and Sweet Valley High, all the Judy Blume ones... a few Ramona ones... Oh my god, it was so funny. I guess I was saving them in case I had a girl I could pass them on to :-) Jen, is Paige a reader? Or would Amanda be interested in them? Trying to think of someone to give them to. If not, my friend and I are planning a garage sale this summer. But I'd feel better if I knew they were going to a good home :-)

Jen said...

Actually yeah, I bet that Paige would love them. Luckily, she's a reader like Aunt Jenny. (Actually, Katey DOES like to read, she's just too busy having kids and stuff to have much free reading time these days.)

Yes, I read Conspiracy Club. Have you read Wind the Wind Blows, about Max and the other "unique" kids? It's the prequel to The Lake House, which I just started. SO GOOD.

Renee said...

Haven't read either; are they Kellerman?

And I'm not exactly SURPRISED that we love the same authors... we're a little similar, ya dork.

I've got a bag of clothes for Tyler; next time I'm in town I'll bring the books for Paige and the clothes for Tyler. Shit, I'll have to find a bag of something for her other 50 kids, too ;-)

Wow! Just a couple of days and this post has already been all over the place!

For the record- the snow SUCKED (and continues to suck becuase it hasn't melted yet). Also, the snow is my fault because I took out my summer clothes and put the patio furniture out before May. Mia culpa, mia culpa.

I'd also like to give a shout out to our new friend, Da Popa- Yo!

Anna between this post and the other one, you're on fire with your funny comments.

Renee said...

Hehehehe. I love Anna :-)

I hate snow too. I had to dig out winter clothes for Mason again after putting all the nice one's away, ARGH :).

How in the hell do you all have time to read so many books? I never make time for it and I should. the last book I read and am still trying to finish is Left Behind and it has been over a year! Gosh I am awful. Good Lord, I am addicted to celebrity magazine's like People and certain TV shows. Man, I am going to start reading more.

Renee- I LOVE Judy Bloom books. So I do recall one author :). and save those for Brent, those are good for little boys too. Also, you can still try for that little girl :), but not until after our blog party so we can all drink. Just kidding.

Renee said...

LOL. I just love reading; always have. John likes to watch tv after we put Brent to bed, so a lot of times I'll bring my book down and we'll sit on the couch next to each other and I'll read while he watches tv. My god, I make it sound like we're 80 or something :-) Hehehe.

So yeah, I read after Brent goes to bed; I read after *I* get into bed for a while (John got me one of those cool little book lights in my stocking for xmas and it works SO GOOD). Don't usually get much read during the day, but Brent usually watches a video with his PB&J for lunch and I can read some then.

But sometimes, usually with the Jonathon Kellerman books, they're SO GOOD that I can't put them down. And it's midnight and I tell myself "just one more chapter, then I'll go to bed" And then I'm up still up at 2, wide awake and kicking myself in the ass cuz come 7 I won't want to get up :-)

Yeah, I'll save the Judy Blume books for Brent. Also found a bunch of Indian In the Cupboard ones, which will be good for him... Island of the Blue Dolphins, Encyclopedia Brown... quite a few that I hope he'll enjoy, but John thinks reading Babysitters Club and Sweet Valley Twins books will make Brent gay, so I guess I'll have to give those ones to Paige :-)

And I'm not trying for any more kids, so I'll certainly be drinking at the blog party. Woo hoo!!

Anna said...

I've always loved to read too :)

I read a couple of books in the Left Behind series. I liked how they made me think about some things like my faith but I did not like how judgemental they were so I stopped reading them. God's the only one who can judge so people should stop it!

I liked Judy Bloom and loved Sweet Valley Twins when I was little. However I hated and still hate the Island of the Blue Dolphins - What a sad story!

Renee said...

To be honest, I think it's my sister's book (Island). I don't recall ever reading it. Same with Indian In the Cupboard. I think she gave them to me cuz she knew Brent would be able to enjoy them some day.

Jen said...

Actually, I'm all about boys playing with dolls and girls playing with trucks...but your son reading Sweet Valley High WOULD be a little weird. =-)

I LOVED Indian in the Cupboard.

LOL. John thinks Brent's fascination with Dora the Explora is worrisome (did I spell that right? It looks weird). I try to explain to him that just because DORA is a girl doesn't mean it's a GIRL show. It's not like he's watching Barbie movies or something, right Jen? ;-)

Jen said...

LOLOL. It's Dora the Explorer. Dora the Explora must be the ghetto version or something.

Yeah, I'm surprised you don't get that version in Detroit...

LOLOLOL. I didn't realize I typed it like that :-) That's hilarious!

Anna said...

LOL! I got it!
"Dora the Explora's Ghetto Adventures" filmed on location in downtown Detroit (Holla!)

Today, boys and girls, we'll go with Dora to Mohammed's Party Store where she'll go to pick up cigs for her Mama's new Daddy-friend. We'll meet up with Dora's homey Lavanque on his corner and pass her pretty painted lady friend-ho's on the way. Come on and join the fun with Dora in the Hood!

Renee said...

LOL! Oh my god Anna! I am laughing so hard it caused John and Brent to venture down here to see if I'd gone mad :-) Hehehehehe.

How about Downriver Dora?

Join Downriver Dora as she ventures to Billy Bob's U Wrench It to find a carbeurator for her rusted out 1977 Ford Pick up!

We'll also meet her friend Betty Sue who runs the local party store when Dora stops in for a case of chewin' tobacco for her momma and some ammo to go racoon huntin later with her 85 hound dogs.

LOLOL!!!

Fantastic!
