My (other) new career.

As some of you know, I recently became a mystery shopper (where companies pay you to go shopping "undercover" and complete a report on the customer service you received, cleanliness of the store, etc.). I had my first "shop" this past weekend (a Frederick's of Hollywood at a local mall). I made $9 for this particular assignment, which is pretty cool; unfortunately, while I was at the mall, I SPENT $25 at Bath and Body Works and Borders (in my defense, Bath and Body Works WAS having their semi-annual sale and I got some really good deals). At this rate, this new hobby of mine is going to put me right back into bankruptcy.

Jen- I am a sucker for a good sale and when I get into the mall at places like bath and body, all bets are off. So what i do is, I only take cash into the mall to avoid the temptation or i take Mason, who keeps me too occupied to really shop :), so borrow a kid or leave the wallet in the car :).

LOL! Guilty as well. I actually dropped $75 at Bath & Body last week. But I got a TON of stuff because of the sale!

But I agree with Kishelle- when Brent's with me, he has NO patience for shopping, so it's much cheaper when I go with him :-)

Renee, Jeff says, "Shit, $75 at Bath and Body Works? She's not muy girlfriend anymore. I can't have a girlfriend who spends $75 on soap." I tried to explain to him, but...

What DID you buy, anyway? I got some of that antibacterial handwash (3 for $10) and a really good deal on this special moisturing body wash that's usually $12 each--I got 2 for $5 each.

LOL. Well remember during the fall they had that awesome apple stuff (I think you guys got a candle)? I fell in love with the hand soap, and John actually did, too. Even if he used the bathroom upstairs, he would come down to the 1/2 bath to wash his hands with that awesome apple soap. So I bought 5 more of those, two apple body sprays for my sister (they don't have the country apple flavor in Holland and it's her fave). Um... 2 kids foam soaps (liquid and when you pump it out, it turns into foam; Brent loves it. A grape one and a banana one), a Coco Cabana body wash, two travel sized body washes (warm vanilla sugar and cherry blossom, which is SO GOOD) and then from the Skin Renewal line an exfoliating body wash and in-shower moisturizer in warm vanilla sugar.

Oh yeah, and they had these really cool suede bags (purses) that USED to be $40 with a purchase and were down to $10 with a purchase. Now c'mon, who could pass THAT up?! So I got one in a really nice chocolate color :-)

"Even if he used the bathroom upstairs, he would come down to the 1/2 bath to wash his hands with that awesome apple soap." *BEEP BEEP BEEP* You know that sound? Thats the sound of the homo alarm going off.. Its one thing to like the apple soap.. but to make a special trip to another bathroom for it.. come on!

LOLOL. Shut up, Mr. Mauve!

And besides, Jeff-- he only did that if he was coming downstairs anyway. It's not like if he was up there playing with Brent and had to pee he'd come downstairs to wash his hands and then go back up. THAT would be homo.

And plus, I'll put that damn soap in every bathroom if it gets him to wash his hands every time he goes. I know I'm a little on the obsessive side when it comes to handwashing, but why do so many guys NOT wash their nasty hands? I don't want you touching food or the counters or the fridge or the phone or the remote or me or ANYTHING after you've just had your hands on your "business" in the bathroom.

Sometimes it's like pulling teeth to get Brent to wash his after he uses the bathroom, too, cuz "Well, I didn't get pee on my hands, so I don't need to wash them." Or after he poops it's "Well YOU wiped my butt, so only YOU have to wash your hands" (Anna, I know you're glad I shared that little tidbit) :-)

So anyway... if it takes spending $75 at Bath & Body for apple soap for John and foamy soap for Brent, I'm willing to make that sacrifice! Whatever gets the job done!

Oooo! Them's fightin' words, Jeff!

Jeff & Renee smack down after school in the parking lot! It'll be the fight of the year! Be there! ;)

(p.s. I now have to go to Bath & Bodyworks tonight after work to snag some deals of my own!)

LOLOLOL Anna :-)

Went to Bath & Bodyworks this weekend with my husband. He's got to be at least as good as a toddler for cutting the shopping process short.
I told him we were going there for handsoap so he marched straight back to the soap refills and couldn't figure out why I was taking so long and what I was look at (Sales! - duh!) We left without any hand soap with me in a huff and Tim confused.
Poor boys, they don't have a chance.

I went back yesterday. I couldn't resist the Siren Song. I got FIVE Body Washes and Lotions for $25. (Mango, Raspberry and Vanilla Black Cherry). Normally, they're $10 each, so this was a fabulous deal. Jeff is actually pretty good now about humoring me when we go there and not rushing me as I peruse the new scents and products and stuff. (Yes, I said "peruse.") I'm not much of a "shopper" like a lot of women so this is my big indulgence.

Renee said...

Yeah, let me just say that you guys are CRAZY for going to the mall with husbands/boyfriends.

John HATES shopping and doesn't have much patience for it, either. That's why I go ALONE so I don't feel rushed and I can smell every scent in the store if I want to :-)

I buy most of his clothes, even. On the extremely rare occasion that he DOES go shopping, he doesn't try anything on. He holds it up to see if it looks right and just buys it. What pisses me off is that everything he gets DOES fit. Why are men's sizes always consistently the same and women's are so fucked up? I buy one size at one store and have to get two sizes bigger in another. What the hell?! Okay, off my tangent...

Jen said...

LOL. Actually, John and I clothes-shop the same way.

Renee said...

You're a dork :-) Plus, it's not hard to go in and get a men's M or L t-shirt and be sure it'll fit :-)

Lisa said...

Jen the reason you and John shop the same is you both wear men's clothing - duh? =)

Renee said...

That's what I meant by my comment, too-- she can DO that cuz she wears baggy mens t-shirts. Wouldn't want to offend anyone by showing off her voluptuous girls in a more fitted WOMENS shirt, would she? ;-)
